Club Rhino, Barpeta was formed in 15th August, 1979 as registered volunteer organization dedicated to the upliftment or under privileged section of the society. The NGO was formed to be involved with the development work of all people in co-operation with all the Departments of Govt. of India, Govt. of Assam and other agencies involved with the rural development. Right from inception Club Rhino continued the multifarious social welfare works, sports and cultural activities. Moreover, Club Rhino Organized Free eye treatment and operation camp (37 Nos.). Tree plantation. Medical health camp, ENT Camp. Cancer screening camp, Blood donation programme, School AIDS programme. Veterinary camp in flood effected area, Agriculture farmers training programme, Fishery trading programme, Construction of waiting shed. Facilitated to drinking water reservoir in Barpeta Town. Observed various day like Independence Day, Republic Day. Rabha Divas. " Silpi Divas. Lachit Divas. World AIDS Da. Labours Day, World Environmental Day, Children Day ete. Club Rhino has been completed project National Water Shed Development Project for Rain fed Areas, School AIDS Education Programme, Jute Rating Tank. Survey of Shelter less People, World Bank Funded Assam Agriculture Competitiveness Project. Out glorious moment that we have celebrated 25 years Silver Jubilee in the year 2004.
